Herstory Archive
Herstory Archive
As well as the public displays, the National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame is also collecting stories and photographs of pioneering Australian women. This information is being preserved in what has become known as the Herstory Archive. Eventually it will be catalogued and indexed and with further funding will be accessible online. Apart from preserving many often previously-untold stories, the archive will be useful for future researchers as well as inspiration for exhibitions at the Hall of Fame.
The information comes to us through many avenues. For example, our curator and volunteers research and collect information often based on names suggested by visitors. There is a book within the exhibition for people to add their suggestions of women whose stories should be recorded.
