Molly’s Bash 2001

About 250 devotees gathered at Molly’s Old Andado Homestead on 12-13 May for the 9th Bash, our annual fundraiser. The road was good, the weather perfect. Internationally acclaimed bush band, Bloodwood were in tremendous form, ably supported by singer/songwriter Barry Skipsey, JP Jenks and saxophonist Peter Weston. Our local funny lady Fiona O’Loughlin (fresh from the Melbourne Comedy Festival, twice guest on TV’s The Panel and who later featured at the Edinburgh festival in August) was MC for the 3rd year running.

Thanks to AAT Kings and Leigh Goldsmith of Outback Experience 4WD Tours for providing buses to take those without 4WD vehicles down to the Bash. The trip took in a stop at the Mac Clark Conservation Reserve, named after Molly’s husband and an area containing some extremely rare acacia trees.

Thanks to Nanette Bragg for organizing the children’s treasure hunt as well as to Chris Tangey for his ever-popular Great Andado Adventure Treasure Hunt for the adults. Molly unveiled and presented the Inaugural Andado Adventure Perpetual Trophy.

The winner of the raffle prize – Barry Skipsey’s framed collection of Central Australian photographs was Debbie Dalton of Alice Springs.

Around $3000 was raised over the weekend.
