When
you visit the National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame at the Old
Alice Springs Gaol, you will be greeted in our reception area
by one of our 35 local volunteers who help keep our displays open
to the public daily.
Three
shifts operate from 10 am to 5 pm on a roster
system. As well as meeting and greeting
visitors, our volunteers handle entry fees,
sales within our book and souvenir shop as well
as membership fees and donations.

Our
curator also welcomes help from volunteers behind the scenes with
cataloguing, research, display, basic repairs or cleaning on a
long- or short-term basis. Help is also needed with the production
and mail out of the organisation's newsletter PIONEER
WOMAN every quarter.

We
also depend on volunteers to help sell raffle tickets or make/bake
items for our shop or other fundraising events throughout the
year such as our publicity stand at the Alice Springs Show.
